Gift ideas for Valentine's or other

So I decided to put together some ideas for people who want to buy someone something, but don't know what to get. There's always the bear and candy and choclate, but these things get old, fast. Flowers are sweet, but flowers die. Why not get someone something a little longer lasting that is a little useful or meaningful?

My favorite: Personalized calender from Walgreens or CVS (although I prefer Walgreens for many reasons) It's only $19.99 for an 8x11 and $9.99 for a small desk one. You can choose twelve photos of your choice and select which month you'd like each picture to go to. I've done this in the past for two people and they loved it. My mom was one of those people, and she is keeping hers even after it's done with.

Coffee drinker? Better yet, coffee-at-home-drinker? You can also personalize a mug! I got one for my dad, two birthdays ago and he loved it! He uses it to this day. It was a family picture, but I cropped it and only put him and me because I'm selfish =)

Something of importance to remember--The person you're shopping for. What do they like? What do they do a lot? If their a writer (like me) a nice journal or diary could satisfy them. Or what about an ipod obbsessed individual, why not an itunes gift card?

Is this person a parent? Friend? Girlfriend? Boyfriend? Cousin? Co-worker? Secret crush?

The digital picture frame (I know, every idea has pictures, I love them) These frames are those things that no one would prolly buy themselves, but it always comes in handy and takes up little space. It's a nice idea. You can put up to 100+ photos and it just keeps scrolling through every ten seconds. Interested? Check me out

So many catergories! Some things I suggest are very universal and they basically work for anyone. If you're shopping for someone who is not very emotional or into meaningful things, you could always go with the gift card to basically any place. From my experience older people, usually parents, don't like gift cards because it's impersonal. Me? I LOVE THEM! Why? Because then I'm forced to shop there (hopefully I do like the place) and then I will get something new in the end no matter what! I love gift cards!

Lots of people are in school now-a-days and they need simple things like calculators (they can get pricey) or pencils, pens, notebooks, folders. If you're thinking this idea is dumb, let me explain. Sure one thing by itself would be pretty lame. No one wants to open a gift to find one green sparkly folder. BUT say you put a few things together, along with a small coffee gift card or whatever, this could actually come in handy and be much appreciated.

If you're shopping for someone who smokes ciggerettes.......DO NOT BUY THEM CIGGERETTTES!

It's just gross and that money should only be spent from their own pocket! Do not support their nasty habit. "no offense" <--- F that. I want you to take offense (if you did). It's gross and it ruins my breathing and I think you're strong enough to quit. Okay, anyway.

Lots of places are doing close out sales with big items (such as TVs, laptops, ipods) For up to 75% OFF! If you're living close to my area, there is a store closing on Youngerman. Sale is Friday Feb.11 through Sunday Feb 13 8-11 AM.

Candles! Glade candles are awesome. Yummy

And if you're one of those people who has no kind of money to spend, you're not out of luck. There is simple things you can do to show someone you love them. Whether you can decorate or draw or not, you could simply fold a paper in half, cut out a picture of you + person and just write down "10" or "50" or whatever, reasons why you love them. I would avoid just physical reasons, add some depth, say something about their hardworking attitude or how they always manage to make time for others. I don't know. =)

And there's always jewerly! ;)

Hope this helped anyone who was a little stuck. I got this idea while talking to a co-worker earlier today while I helped him decide what he should get for his girlfriend. =)
